Getu is a magical place! Well known since the Petzl Roc Trip 2011, it still sees little traffic. So do not come here alone, hoping to find a climbing partner ;) But you will find amazing climbing, both single and multi pitch, in all grades on big limestone cliffs and of course the Great Arch. One of the most impressive rock formations we have ever seen! But even though the grades range from 5 to 8c+ (5.9 to 5.14), you will definitely enjoy it more if you climb harder than 6c (5.11-). The climbing varies from technical walls to steep tufa climbing and even if it is raining, there is enough to climb. Here you can download the guidebook of the Petzl Roc Trip 2011. The Climb China guidebook also covers all sectors (including 12 extra routes at Pussa Yan).

Getu village is located in Guizhou, one of the poorest provinces in China. There are a couple of accomodations available starting at 50 RMB. If you want AC you better check in at the Getu Hotel. The restaurants are really good and really cheap. There is a little shop selling basic stuff and once (or sometimes twice) a day the fruit truck is coming to town, selling bananas, oranges, pomelos and peanuts. But if you want a Snickers or stuff like that, better buy it in advance. It is a one hour drive to Ziyun, the closest city with an ATM that except foreign cards. So bring enough cash (and Snickers).

Here you find the directions to get to Getu and make sure to check out the amazing video of the 2011 Petzl Roc Trip.
